  • Virblicious (one comment)
Posted on 30 March 2007 in Virb, Design and Inspiration
Last night during i-City's mobile party I was talking to Tim about some awesome Virb profiles I had come across (if you don't know about Virb, I wrote about it before). He blamed me for not sharing them, which I'm sorry about ;-). Therefore, here's five of my favorite Virb profiles. Check them out and feel free to post your own favorites!
  • Find me a job, get a free Macbook Pro (six comments)
Posted on 26 March 2007 in Ipod and Job
I came across this post this morning. Some guy named Zac got inspired by this site and is also giving away an iPod to the person who suggests him the perfect job. Zac however doesn't offer a Shuffle, but rewards the winning tip with an iPod Nano (which comes at the price of two Shuffles). It makes me wonder about what will be next. Offering an .. read more
  • Pascal Leroy (five comments)
Posted on 23 March 2007 in Group94, Pascal Leroy and Flash
Pascal Leroy, Group94's founder, was talking in Hasselt tonight. I'm not a flash fan, I never was and I'm afraid I never will be. Still, Group94 has an impressive portfolio and I was curious to attend the presentation. The first slide however was titled Ten tips to successful web design and already made me feel uncomfortable. Really, and I know .. read more
  • When I'm grown up (three comments)
Posted on 18 March 2007 in Meme, Past and Future
Reinier sent me a blog meme yesterday (all the way from Holland), asking me what I'd like to be when I'm grown up. Talking about the past is rather easy, the future is somewhat more tricky. But anyway, here I go: As a kid I can't remember I cared a lot about my (professional) future when I was a kid. However, I did consider the usual h .. read more
  • Today was social media day (three comments)
Posted on 16 March 2007 in Social Media, Blog, Ghent and Jos Willems
I was in Ghent today to attend the Chair Jos Willems on social media. As often the case with such events, Belgians most influential bloggers were invited: TDB, LVB and CWL talked about past, present and future of the web and social media. I'm not going to go into detail about their speeches, as a number of journalism students have done that alr .. read more
  • The social marketing boomerang
Posted on 14 March 2007 in Social Media Marketing, Mashup, Buzzword, Boomerang and Weed
Feared by generations of online marketeers, the social media marketing boomerang always returns at the very time you think you've just launched your best campaign ever. We saw it in the past when Chevrolet thought it would be a good idea to have consumers create their own Tahoe ads - resulting in a large number of not too flattering commercials .. read more
  • The day MySpace died (nine comments)
Posted on 10 March 2007 in Social Network, Design, Virb and Myspace
Just tried out Virb after I saw Bram.us and Bart wrote about it. Virb is like MySpace, but that's about where the comparison ends. Virb is an Unborn Media - the PureVolume people - project, which means that the app really is a pleasure for the eye. Moreover, they also took care to write proper code, which means that you can customize about every .. read more
  • Web design studios in Belgium (29 comments)
Posted on 9 March 2007 in Web Design and Studio
One thing that's pretty hard about working as a web developer is the fact that there are literally hundreds of web design studios doing similar things, with new one's popping up almost weekly. Keeping up to date about what's going on around you therefore takes quite an effort. Recently, a thread on the Telenet forum started listing the better B .. read more
  • Afraid to sign up with Twitter (three comments)
Posted on 8 March 2007 in Twitter, Getting Things Done and Microblog
I know, I promised I would only use this blog to write about things that are not web related and again I'm writing about the web. But really, this is something that has kept me busy the last few weeks. I'm talking about Twitter, the extreme blogging webapp which allows you to keep others up to date about whatever you're doing. I mean, I'd reall .. read more
  • Belgian web agencies top 50 (five comments)
Posted on 6 March 2007 in Agency, Stats and Top 50
Today I received my monthly copy of Inside magazine, featuring a list of the top 50 Belgian web agencies. As you may know, I die for this kind of lists and statistics, even though results for a web agency top list are more or less expectable. Anyway, here's the top 10, based on their 2006 turnover: LBI Belgium (previously DAD) Emakina .. read more
  • Thanks for dropping by
Posted on 5 March 2007 in Traffic and Stats
Thanks everyone for passing by and clicking around. As a result of some nice people linking to this place, the site is currently generating quite a bit of traffic. Obviously, that's what it was made for, so you won't hear me complaining. By the way, some people asked me if it was still worth trying to win the shuffle. Trust me, it is. In fact t .. read more
  • Welcome back! (13 comments)
Posted on 1 March 2007 in First Post Ever and Welcome
Here it is: my brand new personal website. Again it's pretty temporary (at least I hope so) and again it needs your help in order to succeed. It took me quite a while to decide what this place should become, but as I'm graduating within a few months I thought time was right for some (shameless) selfpromotion. So here we are, hunting for a job w .. read more
