  • Privacy is dead (five comments)
Posted on 28 May 2007 in Trends, Conversation and Privacy
While I was reading Bart's trendwatching post, I thought of a YouTube video I saw a few days ago. It features one of the directors of the secundary school I used to frequent (which was a great school by the way) who is misbehaving during a school party. The movie isn't really shocking, but as for a school director this could result in quite some .. read more
  • Here's the ego-marketing tip again (one comment)
Posted on 26 May 2007 in Ego-marketing, Tip and Multi-mania
Time for another ego-marketing tip of the week. Or rather ego-marketing tip of the month. Or rather ego-marketing link of the month. It's not that I'm lazy or anything, but I've got to catch up on my email and RSS. I wanted to so yesterday night, but Niggle dropped in to rave about his upcoming vacation. Sure wish I could go too, but I'm afraid .. read more
  • Multi-Mania (five comments)
Posted on 24 May 2007 in Multi-mania and Adobe
Bram asked me last week whether I was interested in going to Multi-Mania 07. I was a little reluctant at first, as I considered Multi-Mania to be a rather developer-focused event. Nothing wrong with that of course, but my developer knowledge is rather limited. A quick look through the schedule however convinced me: some general presentations, l .. read more
  • Job update (two comments)
Posted on 23 May 2007 in Job and Jobhunt
I know it's been a while, but here's an update on the jobhunt/iPod giveaway. I've been visiting a number of companies the last few weeks and I finally came to a decision: today I officially applied for one of the jobs. I had a hard time deciding which one to choose, as there's a number of really cool jobs available for multimedia students today .. read more
  • Would you wait for the iPhone? (seven comments)
Posted on 20 May 2007 in Apple and Iphone
I've been looking for a new smartphone for quite a while now. Not the BlackBerry kind of things, but an attractive, pocket-size multimedia hand-held offering me at least: An easy to use organiser A decent camera which allows me to upload directly to Flickr Bluetooth and Wireless LAN Synchronization with mac No Windows Mobile OS A .. read more
  • The Bloodhound Gang nostalgia (two comments)
Posted on 15 May 2007 in Bloodhound Gang, Music and Get A Live
About ten years ago I bought the legendary One Fierce Beer Coaster album by The Bloodhound Gang, after I heard the Fire Water Burn single (which probably everybody knows). I guess together with The Offspring's Smash it must have been somewhat of an introduction to punk rock music. It wasn't really punk rock of course. They rather mixed some dif .. read more
  • A pretty busy week that was
Posted on 12 May 2007 in Seeyoo and Job
I just launched the beta version of my master's thesis application, after I spent the week debugging and finetuning the app. It works pretty well right now, so definitely check it out if you want. I'll be adding more functionality and features over the next few weeks, so keep an eye on the WebappLab blog. Meanwhile I finished the reading version .. read more
  • Paola featured in this week's Dag Allemaal (seven comments)
Posted on 8 May 2007 in Paola and Dag Allemaal
The Flemish (and Wallonian) Twitto- and blogosphere were all about Paola today, after Clo yesterday found out about this friendly teenager who all of a sudden decided it was time to dive into the social web.Obviously, conspiracy theories emerged and everyone started to find out what the whole story is about. I did so too, and stumbled upon some .. read more
  • Want to know who's been around here lately? (six comments)
Posted on 7 May 2007 in Mybloglog, Community and Social Network
Just in case you're wondering about those faces on the right side of the individual blog posts: I just added a MyBlogLog widget, showing the 21 latest visitors to this blog.I've been using the MyBlogLog tracking for a while now and it's pretty interesting to watch who's passing by regularly. Seeing the same people showing up every few days actu .. read more
  • PureBlog (three comments)
Posted on 6 May 2007 in Pureblog, Podcast, Barcamp Brussels and Barcamp
I don't know whether this is breaking news or I'm just late to the party (I'm afraid it may well be the latter). François Lamotte yesterday told me there's a French counterpart of Stubru's HypeChannel, called PureBlog. It's broadcast on Saturdays (17-20h) and Sundays (16-19h) on Pure FM (which is part of RTBF) and presented by Damien Van Achter. .. read more
  • It's Barcamp time!
Posted on 5 May 2007 in Barcamp and Barcamp Brussels
Somewhat later then expected, I finished my master's thesis prototype tonight. Just in time to launch it during Barcamp Brussels tomorrow. It'll probably still feature quite a number of annoying bugs and it's missing some functionality I definitely want to add, but I'm happy I can demo it tomorrow and hopefully gather some interesting new ideas .. read more
  • Yet another ego-marketing tip of the week (four comments)
Posted on 3 May 2007 in Ego-marketing, Email and Barcamp
Quick post today, as I'm rushing to finish the written part of my master's thesis so I can send it in for reviewal and meanwhile doing some final tests to make sure I can demo the thesis application at Barcamp. I'll hopefully find some time tomorrow to prepare a little bit of a presentation. Anyway, let's talk ego-marketing. The two previous ti .. read more
