- My favorite website got even better (one comment)
Posted on 25 July 2007 in Slideshare and Presentation
One of my favorite websites got even better yesterday, as SlideShare introduced this new service called SlideCast. SlideCast basically combines the online Powerpoints/Keynotes (the way we knew SlideShare so far) with audio presentations. The new feature provides an answer to what for me personally was one of SlideShare's major problems: the la .. read more - Making fun of Yves Leterme (two comments)

Again the guys over at These Days prove they absolutely know how to play with YouTube. Check this video reply in which they make fun of Yves Leterme's latest blunder (if you don't know what the story is all about, read it here) while promoting the services of their client Spotter. Moreover, the Spotter website features a special page with the ly .. read more - I just got rid of the nofollow tag (six comments)
Posted on 23 July 2007 in Blog and Spam
I just figured I was still using the rel=nofollow tag on this site. I originally implemented it to protect the site from comment spam, but it didn't prove very effective. The captcha whitelist (which requires you to validate any email address that wasn't used previously) on the other hand seems to be able to filter out the spam bots quite well.T .. read more - Trying out the new YouTube embed (four comments)

Apparently YouTube launched a new customuzable player which you can embed in your blog and I just had to try that out. You can choose your favorite player format and a color theme and add videos you either uploaded yourself or added to your playlist. Too bad the green color theme isn't exactly the same kind of green I'm using on this site, but I .. read more - I'm pretty happy I bought myself an E61i (two comments)
Posted on 19 July 2007 in Nokia, E61i and Jealous Computers
I bought myself a Nokia E61i last month and except for the slightly low-end camera, the phone features pretty much everything I was looking for. The large display and full keyboard are fantastic for mobile emailing and RSS reading, while the phone still doesn't feel brick-like in my pocket. Of course I considered the N95, but after trying it o .. read more - Talking about a great desktop (four comments)
Posted on 17 July 2007 in Desktop, Wallpaper and Deskshade
Every once in a while I get this feeling I need to change my desktop wallpaper, as the "old" one gets boring. Problem is however that I'm pretty selective in choosing these desktop images: they shouldn't be too bright or colourful and I don't like to use photos either, as I often find them distracting. That means I'm stuck with a limited select .. read more - Ijsboerke? Posted on 16 July 2007 in Ads, Viral and Ijsboerke
This ad is so un-ijsboerke I actually thought it was a hoax. Apparently it's a viral campaign by These Days, as it's uploaded to their YouTube account (with lot's of internal pages linking to the video) and seeded by Steven (he's got some more videos). I don't really know how to match this with my personal perception of the Ijsboerke brand (bein .. read more - Buzz tracking using Yahoo! Pipes (two comments)
Posted on 14 July 2007 in Google, Reader, Yahoo and Pipes
I recently switched to Google Reader to keep track of my RSS feeds, which means I also use Google Reader to track some Technorati, Blogpulse and Serph buzz feeds. Problem was however that Google Reader kept marking the same posts unread, constantly filling my reader with "new" posts. Pascal suggested this was due to minor differences in the Tech .. read more - It's not an iPhone, it's a big ass table (four comments)
Posted on 9 July 2007 in Microsoft, Surface and Iphone
I already wrote about Microsoft Surface. You know, that touchscreen table which allows you to share photos, send e-mail and play music? Well, here's a little video introduction ... (not done by Microsoft though). - Finally switching to Google Reader (four comments)
Posted on 6 July 2007 in Google, Rss and Reader
A few days ago I forced myself to try Google Reader for some time. I had played with it before of course, but I wasn't convinced a webbased RSS reader would be able to replace the desktop client (being NetNewsWire) I had been using for quite some time. I chose NetNewsWire mainly because of its synchronisation capabilities, allowing me to check m .. read more - Want a Pownce invite? (seven comments)
Posted on 3 July 2007 in Pownce, Microblog and Invite
Robin just sent me a Pownce invite and although I do already use Twitter and Jaiku, I badly wanted to try it out. Not that Pownce is ment to do exactly the same as the two mentioned before, but the profile pages as well as the desktop client look rather familiar. Pownce will probably prove interesting in more professional environments: small gr .. read more
