Web design trends for 2010
Here's the slides from the 2010 corporate web design trends presentation I did yesterday at Rabobank. While you can certainly argue we won't be seeing many corporate sites going as far as some of the examples shown, I thought it would be good to take these extremes as a starting point. Given the vivid discussion afterwards, I think that turned out pretty well.

Nice post. Nice presentation. Got me thinking about updating my footer. Good stuff.

My prediction for 2010 web design is that it is going to get bolder with more retro color schemes, while highlighting things like conflicting fonts, big headlines, and more layouts akin to print and periodicals. Even with all of this flair, I expect to see pages heavier on html text, as SEO isn't a niche game anymore.

@ L.A. I think you are right there, flash heavy sites have never been the domain of large business websites. Personally I don't like the Ally site very much it doesn't give me the feeling of visiting the site of a bank.

Nice slide show ... thanks for sharing!
I agree with most of your slides, particularly the "Web Design in 2010 is all about..." slide.
And, like Michael Locke, I'm also thinking about a footer update now!
I'm not so sure that I agree that horizontal websites are the way of the future though. I've seen more of them popping up in the last year or so, but I'm just not sure that they are user friendly enough and/or that the general public is going to like scrolling sideways to view their content.

How did you end up at Rabobank? Thought this was a client of Openhere? Actually Rabobank is doing already good in terms of webdesign. Much better than all those traditional Belgian banks out there. E.g. they already use real customers for their imagery. You should also check out www.ally.com, pretty interesting design for a bank. And www.blackcard.com.
