  • Looks like I forgot about this blog (two comments)
Posted on 27 April 2010 in Blog
Somewhere the last few weeks I forgot about this blog. Well, I didn't actually. I thought about it quite a few times, but never really could decide what to write about. Basically there's two reasons for that: back in October I started using Posterous, which made me realize that's what this blog had become. Where I used to write longer and m .. read more
  • Redesigning this blog
Posted on 22 September 2009 in Blog and Posterous
So I was redesigning this blog the last few weeks. I wanted the design to support shorter posts, to be easier to read and navigate. Until I realised I wasn't really designing a blog, rather a microblogging kind of tool. I've noticed over the last few months (you probably did so too) that I was blogging less, while sharing lots of content on Twi .. read more
  • Boondoggle b-side: yes, but ... (two comments)
Posted on 9 April 2008 in Boondoggle, Blog and Event
I just returned from the Boondoggle wine & dine, a.k.a. the Boondoggle blog (re)launch party. Let's put things straight: if you're launching a blog, this is the way to go. Nice location, good food and interesting people. Obviously, that was only of minor importance, as the redesigned blog launch was the real deal. Once again the Boondoggle boys .. read more
  • Trend watching
Posted on 29 September 2007 in Blog, Trends, Pietel, Netlash and Trendwolves
Found through Bart's del.icio.us: Bart and Pietel talking about corporate blogs (in Dutch). Probably nothing really new for most of you, but I'm posting it anyway as they're teaching me linking to others is an important part of blogging. The video below is part one of three of a video interview done by Trendwolves, all of which are published to .. read more
  • I just got rid of the nofollow tag (six comments)
Posted on 23 July 2007 in Blog and Spam
I just figured I was still using the rel=nofollow tag on this site. I originally implemented it to protect the site from comment spam, but it didn't prove very effective. The captcha whitelist (which requires you to validate any email address that wasn't used previously) on the other hand seems to be able to filter out the spam bots quite well.T .. read more
  • Another ego-marketing tip of the week
Posted on 20 April 2007 in Ego-marketing, Blog, Google and Resume
I know it's been two weeks since I posted the first ego-marketing tip of the week, so I guess I'll have to think of another name for these ego-marketing posts. Anyway, last time I wrote about the importance of having your name ranked high in Google, being it either the organic or sponsored search results. Obviously, before you focus on your rank .. read more
  • Today was social media day (three comments)
Posted on 16 March 2007 in Social Media, Blog, Ghent and Jos Willems
I was in Ghent today to attend the Chair Jos Willems on social media. As often the case with such events, Belgians most influential bloggers were invited: TDB, LVB and CWL talked about past, present and future of the web and social media. I'm not going to go into detail about their speeches, as a number of journalism students have done that alr .. read more
