  • Personal branding presentation update (three comments)
Posted on 4 January 2009 in Personal Branding, Presentation, Ego-marketing and C-md
I did a last-minute presentation on personal branding yesterday, as part of the C-MD social communities course weekend. I only had a few hours to prepare, so I basically started from last year's presentation and updated it with some more recent cases and discussions.

Posted on 10 February 2008 in C-md, Weekend and Social Media
I spent the weekend somewhere deep down in Belgium, together with the C-MD Social Media course students. I loved the talks, presentations and weather. Photos are up on Flickr, I'll be uploading my own presentation later tonight. Update: the presentation can be found right here.
  • C-MD alumni weekend (six comments)
Posted on 13 January 2008 in C-md, Alumni and Weekend
There's a lot of negative things I could write about how C-MD is managed, but the shared enthousiasm of both teachers and students/alumni is really something that makes it unique. We just spent an alumni reunion weekend (click for photos) at De Hoge Rielen doing workshops, discussing trends (thanks Nick, Nik and Bart for taking part), drinking .. read more
  • Mobile (three comments)
Posted on 21 November 2007 in Mobile, Presentation and C-md
I did a presentation on mobile this morning at C-MD. It was roughly based on my thesis presentation, but I added some more sociological backgrounds and did a small part on mobile trends. It's available for download from Slideshare or you can just check it below.
  • IAB Talent 2007 (15 comments)
Posted on 18 October 2007 in Iab Talent, C-md and School
I'm pretty proud to let you know that I won the IAB Talent price 2007, which was awarded at Customer First today. IAB Talent annually rewards a thesis dealing with interactive marketing (in it's broadest sense) and I'm very glad the jury decided to pick mine. It's really nice to know that people from within the industry acknowledge your work and .. read more
  • Wish I still was a student
Posted on 17 October 2007 in C-md and School
... well no, actually things are great the way they are. I had an inspirational dinner with Niels - who happened to be one of my former lecturers and my thesis coach - tonight. We talked about all kinds of things, but I was most impressed by the list of guest speakers he had invited / planned to invite to speak to this year's C-MD master studen .. read more
  • I'm impressed (two comments)
Posted on 28 August 2007 in Bram Vanderhaeghe, C-md and School
I just read Bram's thesis. Due to doubtful decisions (I'm not going into detail, but let's just say he was treated highly unfair) he was not allowed to present it back in June, although his work was nearly finished. Instead of saying "fuck you" however, he spent the extra two months improving his thesis and tweaking the mockup designs. The res .. read more
  • Any plans for tonight?
Posted on 30 June 2007 in C-md, Wanatoe and Z33
In case you don't have anything planned for tonight yet, you should consider going to Z33 in Hasselt. They've got quite an interesting event planned, starting with the Wanatoe master thesis prize. Two fellow C-md students (Nicky and Jan) made it to the twelve nominees and are competing with a variety of other art students that just graduated. I' .. read more
  • No longer a student (two comments)
Posted on 24 June 2007 in C-md and School
I used to say exactly the same sentence some three years ago, but I'm pretty sure this time it's for real. Well, I did already subscribe to a Swedish language course, but that's evening school only. Friday's master thesis presentation probably was my very last day ever as a regular student. I've got mixed feelings about the C-MD (pre-)master pr .. read more
