- Personal branding presentation update (three comments)
Posted on 4 January 2009 in Personal Branding, Presentation, Ego-marketing and C-md
I did a last-minute presentation on personal branding yesterday, as part of the C-MD social communities course weekend. I only had a few hours to prepare, so I basically started from last year's presentation and updated it with some more recent cases and discussions. - The future of reputation (one comment)

I just put Daniel Solove's The future of reputation on my toread list as it covers one of my favorite subjects (being online reputation management) in an academic, legal way. Solove, an information privacy law authority, writes about how you can protect and manage your reputation (and privacy) online and explores the future of privacy on the int .. read more - Jobat offering a LinkedIn service?

Belgian jobsite Jobat has this fullpage advertisement in today's edition of De Standaard, promoting its new LinkedIn service. I've got no idea what the service exactly is about, as both the advertisiment and the Jobat website provide few information. Jokes announcement a few weeks ago doesn't make me much smarter either. Would there be some kin .. read more - Personal branding (one comment)

As promised in the previous post, here's my presentation on personal branding. Judging from the interesting discussions afterwards and the number of friend invites I received tonight, I'm sure we'll be seeing some very cool personal branding campaigns the next few months. - I hear you are a great lover (three comments)

I just noticed I stopped posting ego-marketing tips a while ago. That's a shame, as for as far as I experienced (and I still do), ego-marketing really is something you need to invest in when you're looking for a great job in the (especially online) communications industry. Therefore, let's start with some regular tips again, this time pointing t .. read more - Have you Googled yourself lately? (one comment)

Apparently 18% of the people participating with the poll on CVverificatie.nl (which is a site aiming at Dutch HR professionals) always Google an applicant's name. 68% does so depending on the job. I'll just assume that means "in case of IT/communications kinds of jobs". In other words: if you're an internet/multimedia graduate looking for a job, .. read more - Here's the ego-marketing tip again (one comment)

Time for another ego-marketing tip of the week. Or rather ego-marketing tip of the month. Or rather ego-marketing link of the month. It's not that I'm lazy or anything, but I've got to catch up on my email and RSS. I wanted to so yesterday night, but Niggle dropped in to rave about his upcoming vacation. Sure wish I could go too, but I'm afraid .. read more - Yet another ego-marketing tip of the week (four comments)

Quick post today, as I'm rushing to finish the written part of my master's thesis so I can send it in for reviewal and meanwhile doing some final tests to make sure I can demo the thesis application at Barcamp. I'll hopefully find some time tomorrow to prepare a little bit of a presentation. Anyway, let's talk ego-marketing. The two previous ti .. read more - Another ego-marketing tip of the week

I know it's been two weeks since I posted the first ego-marketing tip of the week, so I guess I'll have to think of another name for these ego-marketing posts. Anyway, last time I wrote about the importance of having your name ranked high in Google, being it either the organic or sponsored search results. Obviously, before you focus on your rank .. read more - Ego-marketing tip of the week

Google - and its fellow search engines - account for a considerable amount of daily website traffic. Businesses know about that, and spend billions a year in order to get more visibility. A lot less common are individual efforts to rank high in search engines. A while ago it turned out the new Skynet (Belgian web portal) CEO was completely ungoo .. read more
