  • Presenting our brand new iPhone app at Twiist (two comments)
Posted on 2 May 2009 in Twiist, Event, Dockyard and Iphone
You've probably heard about Twiist already, the one day web conference in Leuven on May 15. Filip and Simon managed to book a number of uber-cool speakers you just don't want to miss. We'll be there as well, presenting a brand new iPhone app we're currently finishing. Can't tell you too much yet, but if you want to be the first to know (and try .. read more
  • Champagne! iPhone app
Posted on 20 April 2009 in Dockyard, Iphone and Nocus
Just a quick note letting you know that our very first native iPhone app (which somehow ended up in the App Store after our second app) is now available for download in the iTunes App Store. It's called Champagne! and basically transforms your iPhone into a bottle of sparkling French champagne. Designed by the amazing Max Voltar and built by our .. read more
  • Realtime Railtime info (three comments)
Posted on 1 February 2009 in Nocus, Dockyard, Iphone, Work and Mobile
Some three months ago my friend and former schoolmate Piet joined the NOCUS team as a developer. Soon after, we started an internal project called Dockyard, which basically comprises all non client related projects and other (techy) experiments. Today we're exactly in the middle of our official two-month evaluation period, working on both web- .. read more
  • GPS not working on iPhone 3G? (22 comments)
Posted on 26 July 2008 in Iphone, Gps and Location
I was having some problems this morning as my iPhone wasn't able to locate my position. It worked perfectly before, but somehow the location function in Maps kept spinning for minutes. I did a little searching around to find out I wasn't really the only one facing similar issues. The forum thread contains lots of suggestions that might work, b .. read more
  • I've got over a thousand euro to spent, but nobody wants it
Posted on 12 July 2008 in Rant, Apple and Iphone
Well, in fact it's even worse: I've got to beg people to accept my money and every time again they turn me down, adding me to some dull waiting list. I mean, I wouldn't mind waiting for a custom ordered Maybach car or something, but we're talking about a mobile phone here. Three different models. Millions of people expected to get one. That's re .. read more
  • iPhone on Friday in Belgian stores: some more evidence (seven comments)
Posted on 8 July 2008 in Apple, Iphone and Belgium
Okay, let's go for a somewhat risky prediction: Mobistar will announce the iPhone to be available in Belgian stores as of next Friday, July 11. I'm basing this prediction partly on an article posted to the L'Echo website (thanks @jente for pointing there), partly on an email Nick forwarded me this morning from a (very) reliable source. Can't rea .. read more
  • iPhone in Belgium: results of the experiment (four comments)
Posted on 15 June 2008 in Apple, Iphone, Belgium and Stats
Back in February, I started iPhone-winnen.be, a little crowdsourcing experiment to find out when the iPhone would be released in Belgium. While I admit my experiment was far from scientific, it was interesting to see the evolution of the voting results nevertheless. Probably inspired by the numerous rumors and Steve's upcoming keynote at WWDC, .. read more
  • A thousand participants can't be wrong
Posted on 17 April 2008 in Belgium, Iphone, Stats and Apple
Allright, iphone-winnen.be has reached the magical number of a thousand contest participants. After only two months of being online, I guess it's fair to say that this is a pretty good result. Compared to last month, a lot of people (over 35%) still expect a Belgian iPhone launch in May. Most analists however expect a 3G iPhone launch in June. .. read more
  • What makes people expect the Belgian iPhone in May? (two comments)
Posted on 27 March 2008 in Belgium, Iphone, Apple and Stats
I've been thinking about this for a few days now, but I can't come up with a decent reason. A major part of the iPhone-winnen.be participants is picking May as the month to expect a Belgian iPhone. That's rather strange: after last month's Astel.be announcement (picked up by some major newspapers) of a Belgian iPhone release in June, I'd expec .. read more
  • The iPhone in Belgium: probably April (four comments)
Posted on 17 February 2008 in Iphone, Apple, Belgium and Stats
As much as I (and I guess quite a number of this blog's readers too) would like to know about a Belgian release date for the iPhone, I'm afraid only very few people (if any?) will be able to pinpoint the exact date. Therefore I decided to launch a little wisdom of the crowds experiment, only to see whether it would somehow be able to show sig .. read more
  • It's an MP3 player, too! (eight comments)
Posted on 24 October 2007 in Ipod, Touch, Iphone, Nocus and Iab Talent
Last Monday I got an iPod Touch from my fellow Nocus colleagues as a reward for the IAB Talent price I recently won. I had actually convinced myself to wait for an unlocked iPhone to hit the stores and skip the iPod Touch, but that intent had become quite hard after I played with my boss' brand new iPod last Friday. However, before I had decided .. read more
  • It's not an iPhone, it's a big ass table (four comments)
Posted on 9 July 2007 in Microsoft, Surface and Iphone
I already wrote about Microsoft Surface. You know, that touchscreen table which allows you to share photos, send e-mail and play music? Well, here's a little video introduction ... (not done by Microsoft though).
  • Would you wait for the iPhone? (seven comments)
Posted on 20 May 2007 in Apple and Iphone
I've been looking for a new smartphone for quite a while now. Not the BlackBerry kind of things, but an attractive, pocket-size multimedia hand-held offering me at least: An easy to use organiser A decent camera which allows me to upload directly to Flickr Bluetooth and Wireless LAN Synchronization with mac No Windows Mobile OS A .. read more
