  • Switching jobs
Posted on 23 December 2009 in Job, Work and Nocus
As you may have read on Twitter already, I decided to leave my job at NOCUS for something new. I felt that the last few months, I was missing the challenge in what I was doing. I want to find out about things, fantasize about solutions and scenarios, then bring them to reality. Somehow I ended up spending too much time doing the less exciting pa .. read more
  • Jobzzz: an update (three comments)
Posted on 20 December 2008 in Job, Layoff and Belgium
It's been about three weeks since I launched the Jobzzz layoffs wiki. I got both quite some positive and negative reactions and a considerable number of visits as well. Especially the last week there have been people adding and editing info almost daily, which results in 19 companies listed at this point. We're nowhere near a full overview of t .. read more
  • Jobzzz: crowdsourcing Belgian layoffs (two comments)
Posted on 25 November 2008 in Job, Layoff and Belgium
While talking to Jan Louis yesterday, I realized it's hard to get a clear overview of current layoffs in the Belgian creative/marcom industry. Techcrunch is doing an interesting job listing the US numbers, but that obviously doesn't translate to the Belgian market. You do however hear about people getting laid off pretty much every day. It's har .. read more
  • Jobat offering a LinkedIn service?
Posted on 12 February 2008 in Linkedin, Job, Ego-marketing, Social Media and Personal Branding
Belgian jobsite Jobat has this fullpage advertisement in today's edition of De Standaard, promoting its new LinkedIn service. I've got no idea what the service exactly is about, as both the advertisiment and the Jobat website provide few information. Jokes announcement a few weeks ago doesn't make me much smarter either. Would there be some kin .. read more
  • The iPod has got a new owner (one comment)
Posted on 23 June 2007 in Ipod and Job
You probably already know Leen won the iPod shuffle giveaway a few weeks ago, as she suggested the job I recently landed. While I was at school today (we presented our master thesis projects to the Wanatoe jury), I was able to officially (handing out prizes always requires some ceremony) hand her the prize. Have fun with the iPod Leen, and than .. read more
  • Signed my contract this morning (twelve comments)
Posted on 11 June 2007 in Job and Nocus
It took quite a while to decide, but I finally signed my contract this morning. As of September, I will be joining the Nocus team as a Strategic Account Manager. It sure was quite hard to choose between some of the awesome jobs I was offered during the last few months. I somehow felt like a small boy in a toy shop, not knowing what to pick. How .. read more
  • Want a job in online media? Your timing is great
Posted on 5 June 2007 in Job and Stats
Robert last night pointed me to an Advertising Age article which will probably sound like good news to anyone graduating or looking for something new. According to the article, US employment at internet media companies last month reached 40.000 (which I consider to be a rather low number anyway). While the current rise started at 28.200 in Dece .. read more
  • Job update (two comments)
Posted on 23 May 2007 in Job and Jobhunt
I know it's been a while, but here's an update on the jobhunt/iPod giveaway. I've been visiting a number of companies the last few weeks and I finally came to a decision: today I officially applied for one of the jobs. I had a hard time deciding which one to choose, as there's a number of really cool jobs available for multimedia students today .. read more
  • A pretty busy week that was
Posted on 12 May 2007 in Seeyoo and Job
I just launched the beta version of my master's thesis application, after I spent the week debugging and finetuning the app. It works pretty well right now, so definitely check it out if you want. I'll be adding more functionality and features over the next few weeks, so keep an eye on the WebappLab blog. Meanwhile I finished the reading version .. read more
  • Find me a job, get a free Macbook Pro (six comments)
Posted on 26 March 2007 in Ipod and Job
I came across this post this morning. Some guy named Zac got inspired by this site and is also giving away an iPod to the person who suggests him the perfect job. Zac however doesn't offer a Shuffle, but rewards the winning tip with an iPod Nano (which comes at the price of two Shuffles). It makes me wonder about what will be next. Offering an .. read more
