  • Barcamp Antwerp (one comment)
Posted on 7 March 2010 in Barcamp, Antwerp, Presentation, Mobile and Mobile Web
So yesterday was another wonderful Barcamp Antwerp. If you somehow weren't able to attend, you should definitely go through the presentations (and make sure you sign up for the next edition). I talked about the mobile web myself. Basically a shortened and updated version of the presentation I did a few weeks ago at KVIV. You can find it on Slide .. read more
  • One reason why now is an exciting time to work on mobile projects (two comments)
Posted on 17 February 2010 in Mobile, Mobile Web and Presentation
I did this 10 reasons why now is the perfect time to get started with the mobile web presenation at KVIV exactly one week ago. When thinking about the things I've read this last week alone, it's amazing to realize how much has changed in just a few days (okay, it's a MWC week, but still). Mobile clearly is one of the most exciting areas to foll .. read more

Posted on 1 February 2009 in Nocus, Dockyard, Iphone, Work and Mobile
Some three months ago my friend and former schoolmate Piet joined the NOCUS team as a developer. Soon after, we started an internal project called Dockyard, which basically comprises all non client related projects and other (techy) experiments. Today we're exactly in the middle of our official two-month evaluation period, working on both web- .. read more
  • Apps you can't do without: MobileFiles
Posted on 3 November 2008 in Mobile and Cloud
Everyone's talking about the cloud these days (even Microsoft is) and there's a good reason: having just one version (which obviously is the latest one) of your files and documents available no matter where you are is a relief. Even more so: access to those files and docs regardless of the device you're using is plain wonderful. I got a new com .. read more
  • Mobile Monday Belgium
Posted on 23 September 2008 in Mobile, Mobile Monday and Event
Dorien invited me to the Mobile Monday Belgium kickoff meeting yesterday in some very chique Brussels hotel. Basically the very first Belgian Mobile Monday  - which of course will be open to anyone - will be held on November 17. Further info on speakers, venue, ... will be communicated sometime soon (keep an eye on MobileMonday.be for that). Jud .. read more
  • Mobile users account for 13% of website traffic (two comments)
Posted on 14 May 2008 in Mobile Web, Mobile, Stats and Nielsen
@niggler (who happens to work with Nielsen) posted a tweet pointing to an interesting press release this afternoon about Nielsen TotalWeb. Basically TotalWeb integrates data from both Nielsen Mobile and Nielsen Online to show the unique audience for more than 200 leading (US) websites. That's pretty interesting, and so are the results. In gen .. read more
  • 2008 is the year of mobile: here's the proof (one comment)
Posted on 12 May 2008 in Mobile, Trends, Book and Mobile Web
We already had the devices, applications and data plans, and soon we'll have the users as well. These For Dummies books may prove all too easy or even plain silly, but that's basicly because they're not written to be read by early adopters. It's great to see such a book being announced, as it indicates things are really moving forward. From .. read more
  • Sponsor my Wickd t-shirt during Mobile WebCamp
Posted on 21 April 2008 in Wickd, Mobile, Event, T-shirt and Shotcode
A few weeks ago I received a Wickd ShotCode t-shirt to try out. While I loved the idea of combining clothing with online technology, I haven't really found a suitable situation to test it. Enter Mobile WebCamp. 120 mobile minds gathering to talk about mobile, I guess there's just no better testing environment. And you can share in the wealth: .. read more

CityLive's brand new Community Manager is organizing a Mobile WebCamp on April 26 and there's a lot of good reasons to go there: 2008 is the year of the mobile web breakthrough ;-) this is the very first Mobile WebCamp in Belgium. I checked with BVLG and he confirmed all participants will therefore receive one extra community point. a .. read more

Posted on 8 March 2008 in Wickd, Shotcode, Mobile and T-shirt
I received a Wickd sample t-shirt yesterday as part of their testing program. If you haven't heard about Wickd yet: they're a new Dutch techfashion brand, trying to combine clothing and (online/mobile) technology. Basically all their shirts and jackets include a personalised ShotCode, which you can link to any website you want. While I think .. read more
  • Mobile (three comments)
Posted on 21 November 2007 in Mobile, Presentation and C-md
I did a presentation on mobile this morning at C-MD. It was roughly based on my thesis presentation, but I added some more sociological backgrounds and did a small part on mobile trends. It's available for download from Slideshare or you can just check it below.
