Now this is pretty cool: startup advice in exactly three words. There's a list of 50 tips for you to read at onstartups.com (and a whole lot more in the comments section). While it's interesting to read through the entire list, it's probably hard to remember (and implement) them all at once. Wouldn't it be great to focus on one single tip every .. read more - The Obarometer effect

Now this is rather cool. We launched a social media mashup for De Standaard this morning. It's called Obarometer and basically measures political activity on a number of popular social media. One of our interns spent a few hours trying to list all blogging and twittering politicians, but when I was just doing a Twitter search for obarometer, I f .. read more - Ttrack: hold on a little longer please

Some of you may be wondering what happened to Ttrack, the app I announced at Barcamp Ghent. While I estimated a private beta somewhere around the end of December back then, we haven't been able to finish the alpha version yet. Both a number of other projects and extra features forced us to change the planning. Apart from some nasty bugs, things .. read more - Here's what happened to @footchy (two comments)

Some two weeks ago Tom and Koen (with whom I've previously worked on Twistory and Twiddict) asked me if I was interested in developing a new Twitter app. While one of my new year's resolutions was to stop doing Twitter apps and focus on other domains, I got involved anyway as the app really was something I was looking for myself: a Twitter fr .. read more - Twistory is three weeks old: some numbers

Some three weeks ago we launched the public beta version of Twistory. Time for some stats: 3315 Twitter users have tried Twistory so far, that's some 150 a day. Obviously, not of all of those continue to use the service (to be honest, I guess most of them just tried it out just once). Since November 14, Twistory.net received 11002 visito .. read more - Ttrack Barcamp presentation (four comments)

I'm at Barcamp Ghent right now and just finished my presentation on Ttrack, a brand new Twitter app I've been working on the last few weeks. I'll write some more about Ttrack sometime soon, but the presentation is up for download on SlideShare already. - Twistory screencast

This is great: @SteveH2008 just let me know he created a Twistory screencast, explaining how the app works and talking about possible uses. Thanks Steve! - Twistory is now open to anyone (one comment)

I'm excited to let you know that we just launched the Twistory public beta. I started Twistory all by myself in April: it did what I wanted it to do, but wasn't ready for the big public back then. After the hugely succesful Twiddict app, Tom and Koen joined the team and built a rock-solid app from scratch. And that's where we are today: Twisto .. read more - Twitter's working too well

We didn't really communicate this, but we pulled the plug on Twiddict a while ago as we couldn't really think of a future for the app as Twitter itself became more stable. (Just in case you're wondering: there never was a "big plan", Twiddict was a fun app and a result of only a few night's work.) Today the Twitter newsletter announce .. read more - Why you should be on Twitter: the very last argument

If you're still wondering, there IS a reason why you should be on Twitter and actually it's a pretty simple one: you're no one if you're not on Twitter. - Which Twiddict logo would you prefer? (16 comments)

You may have read Robin's post on The Next Web blog already, explaining that we unexpectedly ran into some legal problems as the American Red Cross no longer allows us to use the red cross in the Twiddict logo. While we haven't yet decided - we're still waiting for their reply - whether or not we're going to change the color (or replace the c .. read more - Twunch, Twitter lunch tomorrow in Hasselt

Allright, if you're in or near Hasselt tomorrow noon and you love Twitter (well, just being a user is fine too), you may want to come over to Twunch. We're meeting up at The Century around 12.30. Make sure to post a reply to @twunch to confirm your presence. - Twiddict (seven comments)

We just launched Twiddict this morning, another brand new Twitter mashup that basically allows you to Twitter when Twitter is down. Twitter suffered quite some downtime the last few weeks, and tonight's World Wide Developers Conference and the iPhone 3G will probably cause some extra pressure on the service. Building Twiddict together with Tom .. read more - Doc Searls and the Twitter backchannel (four comments)

This was pretty fun yesterday. While Doc Searls was doing his Mobile Monday Amsterdam presentation, someone posted a picture to the Twitter/Jaiku backchannel featuring Doc in an even uglier shirt. Which made me wonder, why is it actually that American professors tend to have a bad eccentric taste in clothing? Photo by comicbase - So where's everyone when Twitter is down? (three comments)
Posted on 20 May 2008 in Twitter and Rant
Twitter is down again and I truly hate that. Not just because a broken Twitter means Twistory doesn't work either (now that's the real reason why Twitter mashups shouldn't have a business plan: they're not reliable businesses anyway). A lot worse is the fact that over the last year I really got used (well, call it a little addicted) to the immed .. read more - Twistory now supports time tracking tweets (four comments)

Since the Twistory launch exactly three weeks ago, I've been working on bugs and improvements. Meanwhile I've thought about the direction in which Twistory should be heading, based on the feedback I received and the talks I've had. While some people suggested to implement to do-like features, I'd prefer to stick to Twistory's core (being hist .. read more - Twistory launched during Mobile WebCamp (four comments)

Yesterday was Mobile WebCamp Hasselt, Belgium's very first mobile-only barcamp edition. To me, barcamps really are one of the most inspiring conferences to go to, and so was this edition. Kirsten and Dorien really did a great job setting it all up. Last week Andrew Baron created quite some buzz when he decided to put his Twitter account up for sale on Ebay. While it sure was a great PR stunt, earning money by selling your Twitter account probably isn't as easy as it may sound. After all, all those Twitter friends are following you (the first owner) as a person, not your Twitter account (so .. read more - Website update (two comments)

When I originally launched this website a little less then a year ago (this is what it looked like back then), it was meant to get me nice job after school. That worked out fine and I turned the site into a personal blog. I know, I promised I would only use this blog to write about things that are not web related and again I'm writing about the web.
